Maggie Ball is a Multimedia Creative based in Rochester, New York.
My name is Maggie Ball and I’m a multimedia creative specializing in event videography, film photography, and content creation (photos, video, podcasts, and graphic design for individuals, organizations and small businesses).
In 2016 I earned my BS in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin, where I developed a solid creative and technical foundation in video production, including scriptwriting, pre-production, lighting, audio, cinematography, and post-production.
Since college I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of fields, including podcast production at 5by5.tv, event videography (dance, theater and other performances) with Sharpshooters Video, both graphic design and broadcasting for the Texas Senate, a wedding videographer with Rebecca Lynn Films, and most recently as an Operations Manager for The Little Gay Shop, a beloved retail, bookstore, and community space that amplifies the voices of queer authors, artists and creators from all over the world. I also co-created As You Are Productions with audio extraordinaire Allie Lingren, a personal project recording high quality, stripped back performances of local musicians in intimate spaces.
My work is driven by a deep reverence for photography and videography, understanding the power that photos, videos, voice recordings have in how we remember our lives and others. In a time when we all have access to a camera, AI nipping at our heels, I pride myself in bringing an unwavering authenticity to my art, favoring film photography over digital, documentary style filmmaking over stylized shoots, imperfections over heavy editing, and aiming to capture the magic that makes each event, moment, or performance unique.
